My name is Anna Adcock and I would like to welcome you to my website. Besides giving you information about the services I offer, I also intend to use the blog section of the website to pass on relevant news and information that might be relevant to my customers and pet owners generally.
Charnwood Paws – How it came about
I’ve always been passionate about animals and I’m no stranger to pets. Over the years I’ve owned a number of dogs and cats. Currently I share my home with Enzo, a Labrador dog and a cat called Cass. My husband Graham and son Charlie complete my home in Barrow-upon-Soar. My passion for pets has also led me to volunteering for the local Dogs Trust as a dog walker. I’m also a volunteer at the Cinnamon Trust. I hope to give more information about these two organisations in future blog posts.
Why consider using my services?
I realise that there are a number of local services who offer pet care. Owners will often look at the website and reviews of a few before deciding to make contact and arrange a meet and greet. There are a number of other factors that pet owners should consider before making a choice. These include:
- Does the pet service have insurance for all the services they provide? Before booking the services of anyone, insist to see their original insurance certificate.
- Are they DBS / CRB checked? Since you will be giving a key to your property to your pet service provider you want to be sure that they don’t have a criminal record. A basic DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) certificate is all that’s needed. Because I also work with children (scout group leader) I have an enhanced DBS certificate.
- Is the pet service a member of any professional bodies? I’m a member of NarpsUK (National Association of Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters) and ISAP (International Society of Animal Professionals) and will provide evidence at any meet and greet.
- How will they transport your pet? There are new laws regarding how pets need to be secure during transport. Ideally you want to use a service who uses professional safety cages. You should also ask how pets will be kept cool during the summer months. For car based vehicles this means it has to have air conditioning. For vans you will want to know that they have air vents to keep travel temperatures to safe levels.
If you have any questions about the services I offer that are not answered by this website or you just want to chat about your particular pet care needs feel free to contact me.
